Savanna has an opportunity for experienced, safety focused, Field Mechanics to join our growing Field Maintenance team.

Point of Hire is Toowoomba.

As a Field Mechanic you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, testing, inspecting, and commissioning all rig mechanical equipment and systems whilst adhering to the appropriate quality, safety, and legislative standards

To apply, you should have:

  • Trade Certificate(Qualified Fitter/Mechanic)
  • Current C (car) class driver’s license
  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, to work within guidelines and procedures, identify problems and seek advice to resolve issues relating to tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and work cohesively with other company departments.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in remote locations.
  • Ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations and measurements.
  • A strong work ethic

What you'll be doing:

  • Carry out mechanical work (including isolations) in accordance with Savanna policies, applicable legislation, and license requirements.
  • Read hydraulic, schematic and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements
  • Inspect, service and repair rig equipment as needed to ensure reliable performance
  • Interpret work instructions and OEM maintenance procedures and conduct preventative maintenance.
  • Provide effective support to rigs, camps and the maintenance departments daily
  • Use and operate all equipment in accordance with company and client policy and procedures
  • Conduct all work in accordance with current legislative and industry specific requirements
  • Keep abreast of changes in industry standards and regulations
  • Work within the scope of your trade qualification
