Savanna is currently seeking a full time Yard Hand position available to join our growing Maintenance team.
The yard hand is responsible for performing various manual labor tasks. The role will include cleaning equipment, cleaning the yard, moving, and organizing under the direction of the maintenance manager and fulfilling general maintenance tasks as required. Loading and unloading including movements of heavy vehicles and trailers.

To apply, you should have:
- Current HR Driver’s license at a minimum, MC license preferred (Minium of 1 years' experience with an HR Driver's license)
- Current C (car) class driver’s license
- Forklift Licence - Certified and skilled in operating forklifts safely and efficiently.

- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team with a strong work ethic
- Punctual and reliable
- Time management skills
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Experience with heavy vehicle movements and logistics.
- Proficient in loading and unloading trucks, with knowledge of load restraint techniques.
- Competence in manual handling tasks, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Experience in performing general housekeeping to uphold depot standards.
What you'll be doing:
- Stacking and moving items throughout the workshop and yard
- Clean equipment coming into the workshop and leaving the workshop
- Organise and move equipment around under the direction of the Workshop Supervisor
- Assist in arranging and taking inventory of consumables
- Operate forklifts in order to move and organise the yard with equipment
- General painting around the workshop and yard to keep designated areas clearly identifiable
- Ensure the yard is properly maintained and kept clean at all times
- Assist in bringing in equipment to the workshop for maintenance operations to be carried out
- Assist with heavy vehicle movements and logistics.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Complete manual handling tasks, ensuring safety and compliance
