Due to an internal promotion, Savanna is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team provide excellent service to our Rigs, employees and business. This position will be based in our Toowoomba Office.
As a Purchasing Officer you will be responsible for the provision of ongoing procurement services including order placement, supplier management, internal stakeholder engagement and to ensure the best possible commercial outcomes are achieved in all dealings with Savanna’s approved supplier base.
This role is an important link between our suppliers and internal customers and plays a pivotal role in the supply chain management structure at Savanna.

To apply, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar position
- Strong knowledge of, and experience in procurement policies and processes.
- Ability to develop productive relationships with internal clients and suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to identify, collect, collate, analyze and present data in a manner that contributes to sound procurement and contract management decision making.
- Excellent organisational, time management & prioritisation skills
- Ability to multi-task and deadline-orientated with an ability to stick to time constraints
- Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills and understanding
- Previous experience using ERP system such as Dynamics AX or SAP
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel and Microsoft Outlook user
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
What you'll be doing:
- Purchasing / Procurement of supplies, Issuing of PO’s, coding and pricing correctly (AFE #'s, FA ID's, Equipment ID's) and accurately
- Acting as liaison between suppliers, operations and the field
- Expediting of all purchase orders to ensure required due date is realized.
- Ongoing supplier quality management.
- Ongoing supplier contract management.
- Negotiation of pricing for purchased items.
- Develop, maintain and monitor relationships with internal clients and external contractors for the purpose of achieving and sustaining customer satisfaction and value for money.
