Savanna is currently looking for an experienced part time Payroll Officer to join our growing team.  This is a newly created position reporting to the Payroll Manager. You will work 3 days a week (Monday & Tuesday and another day each week). Based in our Toowoomba Office

As the Payroll Officer you will be the first point of contact for employee payroll enquiries. You will support and assists the Payroll Manager in the successful delivery of fortnightly payrolls to the broader business.

To apply, you should have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a busy office environment
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using the Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent attention to detail & adherence to established procedures
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong administrative skills together with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

What you'll be doing:

  • Working closely with the payroll manager to ensure end to end payroll processing and associated activities are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes
  • Assist with data input, checking, quality control and maintenance of records to ensure integrity of data
  • Assist employees with payroll queries and follow up when required
  • Assist with follow up of information that maybe required from managers and supervisors to ensure correct payment to employees
  • Process Superannuation Contributions
  • Assist with End of Month Reporting, Payroll Tax requirements and End of Financial Year processes
  • Maintain filing of payroll records
