Role Description
The Health Safety Environment Advisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting EHS audits, and implementing safety programs. The advisor will also conduct risk assessments, provide safety training, and prepare reports on safety performance.
Savanna Energy currently has casual and full time positions available with point of hire being Toowoomba, Brisbane or Adelaide on an even time roster of 2 weeks on 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on 3 weeks off.
Tasks
- Support, coach and advise frontline rig leaders, transport leaders and workers to ensure positive outcomes for safety, health and environment performance
- Provide application coaching on Savanna Assist and Assure Program, including undertaking Assure Audits
- Undertake and complete investigations into HSE events to determine root cause, identify learnings and make recommendations based on learnings
- Support and assist other service provider stakeholders within Savanna (e.g. HR, IT and Training)
- Support Savanna Contract Owners and Supply Chain with contractor management activities (including prequalification activities)
- Complete frontline spot-checks of contractor and sub-contractor activities
- Complete audits and provide assurance around the effectiveness of controls within the Control Effectiveness Program
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of safety legislation and compliance matters
- Communicate and consult regularly with workers about foreseeable health and safety hazards
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification level of Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, a Diploma in Work Health & Safety is highly regarded.
- 3 three years’ experience within a HSE type role or be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of Risk Management practices and incident investigations techniques in the oil and gas industry.
- ICAM / Taproot certification regarded.
- Knowledge of behaviour-based programs, e.g. Step 7 / Assist and Assure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Audit experience in the preparation and execution of audits
- Understanding and working knowledge of ISO 9001/45001/14001
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
