About the role
The Electrician is responsible to install, maintain, repair, test, inspect, and commission all rig electrical equipment and systems while adhering to the appropriate quality, safety, and legislative standards.
Point of Hire is Toowoomba, Brisbane or Adelaide with 2 on and 2 off or 3 on and 3 off roster arrangements available.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Connect electrical equipment to power supplies.
- Connect switches, outlets and other fittings.
- Connect, test and maintain circuit breakers and RCD’s (Residual Current Devices).
- Conduct excavation permits as per operator policy and procedures.
- Repair and install wiring systems to the relevant standards.
- Test for, locate and repair electrical malfunctions.
- Install and/or repair electrical and electronic control systems.
- Install, test and/or repair electrical appliances.
- Install and maintain communication equipment.
- Install and/or repair electrical motors and power generation equipment.
- Read electrical, schematics and mechanical diagrams, drawings or specifications to determine job requirements.
- Interpret work instructions & OEM maintenance procedures and conduct preventative maintenance
- Inspect service and repair electrical equipment as needed or directed to ensure reliable performance.
About you
- Current C (car) class driver’s license
- Trade qualified Fitter / Mechanic electrician
- Ability to work in outdoors and remote areas
- Good physical condition, strength and emotional stamina
- Ability to conduct basic mathematical calculations and measurements
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and work cohesively with other company departments
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, to work within guidelines and procedures, identify problems, and seek advice to resolve issues relating to tasks.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Have the right to work in Australia.
